We have teamed up with trainer Jeremy A. Pell, so that we may offer obedience training classes that are conveniently located to residents in and around Greenwood, IN. With your participation and enthusiasm, we hope to add more and a larger variety of classes to fulfill the need of dog owners in this area.

AKC Star Puppy
(for puppies up to a year old)
Next Classes Starting:
November 8, 2017 – 8:15 PM to 9:15 PM
6 weeks: $120
Our Puppy Kindergarten class was developed to teach puppies 8-18 weeks old to respond to you and your family, and help you learn how to keep your puppy from learning bad habits. This class covers a variety of areas including:
– Bite Inhibition
– Crate Training
– Starting to learn Sit, Down
– Walking on a Loose Leash
– Coming when called and much more!
We cover a great deal of information in this class, so please come prepared to listen, learn, practice and ask questions! If you start your puppy off on the right paw, you can help alleviate many of the problems for which people relinquish their pets in the first place. Our registration form can be found on the FORMS page from the navigation menu to the left.
Basic Obedience and Manners
(for all dogs 1 year and older)
Next Class Starting:
6 weeks: $120
Our Basic Obedience Class is the next step after Puppy Kindergarten. You will continue learning the basics of Sit, Down, Stay, and Come, and also start learning Heeling (where your dog learns to walk nicely at your side), while incorporating all the above commands.
In addition, we will discuss many household behavior issues such as Jumping, Barking, Biting, Chewing, Housebreaking and much more. This is a fun and motivational program for both dog and owner!
Don’t worry if you didn’t go through the Puppy Kindergarten Class. The only requirement is that your dog be at least one year old to be admitted to this class. Many people adopt adult dogs from shelters, rescues, etc., and are looking for guidance on the basics with their new four-legged member of the household! This is the class for you!

Please bring the following to class:
TREATS – Bring soft treats that will really motivate your dog. These can be purchased in our store.
TREAT POUCH – Helps greatly in keeping treats at your waist, yet keeps your hands free.
COLLAR & LEASH – Bring a 6-foot leash, preferably leather (retractable leashes not allowed) and the collar your dog normally wears on walks. The trainer will recommend another collar if needed. Training collars and leashes are available for purchase in our store.
FAMILY MEMBERS – Children over the age of 8 and other members of the household who are interested in learning and willing to participate in training are welcome to come to class. Only one person at a time will work with your dog. Children must be willing to sit quietly in a chair so as not to disrupt the class. If you cannot expect this of your child, please don’t bring him or her to class so as not to disrupt others. Thank you!
YOUR DOG! – It is best if you don’t feed your pet right before class and make sure he or she has a chance to potty prior to arriving for class. Also, if you can work off some excess excitement with exercise before class, it is helpful, as well.
Meet Our Trainer
Welcome to obedience training at U Dirty Dawg. I would be honored to have the opportunity to work with you and your dog. My family and I have two dogs, Phoebe, a 9-year-old Standard Poodle, and Lexie, a 4-year-old Dachshund mix.Phoebe and Lexie are members of our family and I hope to help you make your dog as enjoyable for your family as ours are for us. I have been teaching for 13 years as both an assistant and lead trainer.
My Doberman Pincher, Jasmine, and I earned our first obedience title, CD, and her Canine Good Citizen certification before she passed away in 2005. My goal in obedience training is to have an enjoyable experience working with the dogs and to help make them well-mannered members of the family. I believe in taking a gentle approach to training so that we teach our dogs what is expected of them.
In class, we will learn to use positive reinforcement, body language, voice tone, and consistent words and commands to teach your dog. Outside of the dog obedience world, I have been a firefighter for 24 years and am glad to call Center Grove home. My wife Lori and I have two boys, Carter 13 and Hayden 8.
